Workshop N°4

Gather on groups of four and comment about the following statements andquestions based on the time you have been at your school:

1.- How was your reception at the school you were assigned at? How did youfeel? How did the students react when they saw you?

My reception was regular because first my guide teacher not gave me a moment to I present to students so couldn´t greet to them as last year in other practise my guide teacher was very polite and I could told them who I am and why I was there. So I felt a few sad for this and the children were with doubts why I was there and who I was, they are children of 8° year and someone children were not important my presence and other commented between their classmates.

2.- Talk about the school`s surrounding. Do you think it affects the learningprocess?
I think about the school´s surrounding is good, they have the necessary to learning process because this a new school so it has a library, a computer classroom, a big yard, a diningroom, a good classroom, etc.

3.- Describe your guide teacher, use the following points:

a) Willingness to help you

I can see that never my guide teacher gave me the possibility of greet to students when we came class but in other situations he always help me so he gave me oportunity of be with children, help and teach to them and when I had doubt he helpt me.

b) Relation with the rest of the teachers and the personnel at school.

My relation with other teachers was good except of a woman teacher that never told or saw me. The rest personnel always was good too.

C) Personal charisma to teach

The guide teacher have patient with the students, sometime he gave them oportunity to repeat the bad quizes but when they not lisen to him, talk and smile very noisy, the teacher is very angry, hits on the table and he says to them ugly words such as that they are stupid and never they will be a great professional and I think this isn´t correct form to teach to them as have to behave in class.

d) Proficiency in the L2

He talks very well English, he teaches fonetics to his students because he told me that he lived in United States when finished his studies in the university.

e) Relation with the students

Only someone students his relation isn´t good because when he is angry with them he says that they are stupid and they angry too with him.

f) Teaching methods

His methods are traditionals and bored for them, always the exercises are the same and the students not do it only talk with classmates or play with something.

4.- How is the relation among students in the class?, comment about behavior, motivation and levels of English.

The levels of English is bad only two or three students understand this language but other children not working in class and their behavior is bad always they are talking and smile for something and not pay attention to teacher when he explains and the results of the quizes are very bad.

Do you think this experience is going to be useful? Support your answer.

Well, I think this experience is going to be useful because I can know the behavior the students, learn as a teacher have to be with them, know what do when there is a problem. I think is necessary this practise to see the reality of a school because we learn a lots and of the teacher we can learn too of his methods if his methods are good, we can copy these methods; if his methods are bad, we can correct the mistakes to a good teaching and in the future be a excellent teacher.
